SEVALAYA-Design for Change

Sevalaya is an organisation dedicated to social service inspired by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, Mahathm Gandhiji, And Mahakavi Bharathiyar.The institution is running an orphanage, oldage home, a rural higher secondary school, a library,and a dispensary etc.,. The institution is located in Kasuva village in the outskirts of Chennai.They are a dedicated lot.

Recently the institution has bagged an international award. And got a prize of a classroom building to be constructed by Walt Disney.

DESIGN FOR CHANGE AWARD

38,000 schools - 24 countires - 250,000 children taking part - worlds
largest "Design for Change" Contest and Sevalaya kids come on TOP of
the world. The first prizes were shared with 19 other schools.

Sevalaya kids designed a change to reduce / reuse plastic and
implemented it in 7 villages around Sevalaya. This was reported on CNN
IBN too. Now they have won an international award - as part of this
award Walt Disney will set up a class room in Sevalaya.
