  1. "A son and his father were walking on the mountains.
Suddenly, his son falls, hurts himself and screams: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh! !!"
To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh! !!"
Curious, he yells: "Who are you?"
He receives the answer: "Who are you?"

And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!"
The voice answers: "I admire you!"
Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!"
    He receives the answer: "Coward!"

He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?"
The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention."
Again the man screams: "You are a champion!"
The voice answers: "You are a champion!"

The boy is surprised, but does not understand.
Then the father explains: "People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE.
It gives you back everything you say or do.

Our life is simply a reflection of our actions.
If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart.
If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence.
    This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life;
Life will give you back everything you have given to it."

YOUR LIFE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. IT'S A REFLECTION OF YOU!"

    ----------Very nice posting.
There is a Tamil saying in "pura naauru"
"Theethum nanrum pirar thara vaaraa" meaning
"Good are bad for us do not come to us from others";that elaborated further will come to mean, we are responsible for all that happen to us;none else should be blamed for our woes.
That is the echo effect you speak of!

  4. Many think Brahmins did only vedic studies in
general and did nothing else.To greater extent that opinion may be true. But there are evidences in Tamil Sangam literature(dating back to BC)
that Brahmins did more activities than merely byhearting the Holy Vedas.
The six important jobs of Brahmins are:
    1.Learn2.Teach.3.Do yaga/yagna for themselves
    4.Do yagas/yagnas for others.5.Receive donations.6.Make donations.

There were two types of Brahmins: 1.Virinool anthaNar:one who is thorough with Holy Vedas.
2 Purinool anthaNar:one who is a relative of vedic pandits;but do not know theHoly Vedas themselves. They simply ware the sacred thread
to show their proximity with the vedic pandits.
They serve the pandits in household and other worldly matters. They also learn some handwork like making bangles out of conch shells. They collect the twigs for yagas. They collect the materials for the yagas to be conducted by the pandits. They run errand for the succees of the yagas.Sometimes they act as ambassadors between kings. Some times they act as mediators to stop wars;they were the peacemakers/go betweens
There is reference in Purananuru of a Bramin who talked to a king and his followers who made a seige of a fort on behalf of the king
who was under seige. The Brahmins words were so strong, the king who made the siege retreated in fear. Not only a war was averted. But also, the dignity of the king (who was in seiege) was upheld.
    Words are mightier than swords,indeed!

  5. 7 Ways To Put A Smile On Somebody Else’s Face

    1. Write an encouraging note to others that have encouraged you or that need encouragement. Handwritten notes that are given to encourage, not just for thanking someone for a gift, are rare. That makes handwritten notes even more special. Start a new practice of sitting down and writing an encouraging note on a regular basis. You just might start an epidemic!

    2. Take a friend out to lunch or invite her to your home for a meal. You will get to know each other even better than you do right now. If you feel like being more adventurous, throw a party for several of your friends and put smiles on a multitude of faces.

    3. Give someone an inspirational book to read. You will feel good doing it, reading the book will change the person, and they will think of you every time they read it.

    4. Ask a friend or relative if you can take care of their kid(s) for a day or evening. If you have been a parent, you know the value of being able to have a few hours of `adult time` without worrying about the children. Don't wait to be asked to baby-sit when it is required. Offer to do it at a time when the parent can do something fun and relaxing.

    5. Deliver a meal to someone you know that is sick or having a rough time. We have all been sick and know the last thing you want to do is be out of bed. There are also times when life is tough and it is hard to do all of the daily chores. You can be a tremendous help by providing a meal that can be enjoyed.

    6. Volunteer time to supporting your local prayer hall or temple. Every minute you dedicate to charity or temple will cause many smiles. You will put a smile on the face of each leader just for helping without being asked. You will also be putting smiles on the faces of those that are being helped through the organization.

    7. Thank everyone that supports you throughout the day. The list of those that you come in contact with is endless. Remember family and friends, secretaries, co-workers, teachers, Sunday school teachers, pastors, store employees, janitors, gas station attendants, those that deliver your mail and newspaper, and servers at restaurants

  8. continued...

  9. continued....

  11. "ANCIENT INDIAN LITERATURE: Chanda saastra explains how the Vedic mantras / hymns are arranged in the Vedas based on the number of letters in each line. It is the prosody of the Veda mantra. Rigveda (saakala saakha) has 397265 letters which are present in 193816 words. These are present in 10552 hymns / Riks / mantras. These hymns are compiled in 2024 vargas, in 64 chapters. Here each of the Riks is written in specific number of letters under the rule of the prosody/ chandas . When the letters in a hymn are 24, it is said that the mantra is composed in gaayatri chandas. If 28 letters, the it is said that the mantra is composed in ushnik chandas. Like that respectively anushtubh chandas, bruhati chandas, pankti chandas, thrushtubh chandas, jagati chandas, respectively for 32, 36, 40, 44 and 48 letters in each hymns. One can understand the chandas of a Veda mantra from noting the beginning of chanting each mantra. The Vedic scholars give the name of the chandas while chanting each mantra. They chant the chandas name , the Rushi and devata of the mantras. Say for example before chanting one of the mantras of Rugveda known as mithra sthuthi mantra, they start chanting it as: gaadhino viswamitra rushi, devi gayatri chanda mitro devata which means the mantra has been written by the sage Gaadhina Viswamitra, the prosody or chandas name is gayatri (24 letters) the devatha is Mitra (Sun)"
